20's Plenty for York want 20mph road speeds where people live, without traffic calming
We got an overwhelmingly positive vote on the Council Consultation on 20mph limits as printed in the Oct edition of Your City Magazine. 687 out of 1100 resident forms went in. Over 720 wanted speeds reduced in the Local Transport Plan.
76% of people responding the the City Council consultation on 20 mph limits wanted them, but they were not granted on 1st February 2011. Labour are calling the decision in on 28th February.
Campaigning has taken the form of petitions, a public meeting, speaking at council meetings, letters to the press and councillors, talking to the police, bringing in related campaigns, bidding for funding, clipboard campaigning on the streets and more. Write to letters@thepress.co.uk
We got £125 from the Cooperative Membership - free stickers are yours for the asking and were funded by £50 from York in Transition
